"From reacting to responding."
Hi, I'm Michael Egan — Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and founder of You & Yours LLC. I specialize in high-conflict co-parenting and court-involved family dynamics.
I have over 13 years of experience working alongside families navigating separation, divorce, and the particular exhaustion that comes with co-parenting someone you no longer trust. I founded You & Yours LLC because I believe every family, no matter how stuck they feel, deserves a calmer, more stable path forward.
From reacting to responding. That is the work. That is what changes things.
My Story
Hi — I'm Michael. I want to start with something simple: I genuinely love this work. Not in a detached, clinical way. In the way where I think about families I've worked with long after our sessions end, where I feel something real when a parent tells me that drop-offs have gotten calmer, or that their child seems less anxious.
I've spent over 13 years working alongside families navigating some of the hardest seasons of their lives — separation, divorce, high-conflict custody disputes, and the particular exhaustion that comes with co-parenting someone you no longer trust or like very much.
I founded You & Yours LLC because I wanted to build something specifically for families who feel stuck and haven't found relief. The C.A.R.E. program exists because of them.
One of the most meaningful moments in my work is when I can see that a parent no longer needs me. That moment — when parents feel equipped to move forward on their own — is the true measure of success.
I
Every family has capacity for change.
I have never met a family that was truly beyond help. Some are further from it than others — but the capacity is always there. My job is to help you find it, not convince you it exists.
II
Children are always the compass.
Every tool, every framework, every conversation in my work gets filtered through one question: what is best for the child? When parents lose sight of that, I help them find it again.
III
You don't need your co-parent to change.
One of the most empowering shifts I help parents make is realizing they don't have to wait. When you change how you respond, you change what the conflict feeds on. That's real power — and it's yours regardless of what your co-parent does.
My Approach
I lead with a strength-based, solution-focused approach — which means I spend far more time building on what's already working than cataloguing what isn't. I bring energy, humor, and honesty to my work, because families respond better to a real human in the room than a clinical presence behind a notepad.
My work focuses specifically on court-involved families navigating high-conflict co-parenting. This is a population with very specific needs — the stakes are higher, the emotions are more charged, and the standard communication tips most programs offer simply don't cut it. The C.A.R.E. program was built from the ground up for exactly this dynamic.

"From reacting to responding — one skill at a time. That is the work. That is what changes things."

A Personal Note
To Every Parent Reading This
If you've made it this far, you're probably someone who is genuinely trying. Maybe you're exhausted. Maybe you've already tried everything and nothing has stuck. Maybe you're skeptical — and that's okay.
I don't need you to believe it will work before we start. I just need you to show up. The tools are real, the framework is solid, and I will be in that room with you every single week. Your children are watching how you handle this — and you have the opportunity right now to give them something extraordinary: a parent who chose to grow.
I am a hope merchant through and through. I look forward to meeting you.
